Contract Administration

Key features of a building contract and how it is administered

Contract Administration

Once a Contractor is chosen this is recommended to be formalised under a Standard Form of Building Contract between client and contractor.  This means that a Contract Administrator (usually your architect) is required to administer the terms of the contract.

Key features of a building contract:

  • Allows good management of the project from start to completion
  • Allows effective collaboration between the employer and contractor
  • Gives control over the timely completion of the building project
  • Provides an effective way of managing payment to the contractor
  • Provisions for collaborating with the contractor over events that may delay completion or add costs to the project.

FS Architecture can advise on the most suitable Contract and administer it up to completion.
